1. Our Commitment to Safety
FamWise is built from the ground up to be a safe, educational, and enriching environment for families and organizations. We maintain a strict, zero-tolerance approach to any behavior, content, or interaction that endangers minors.
2. Strict COPPA Compliance
We are fully committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar international privacy frameworks. FamWise intentionally limits data collection by design. We do not require minors to submit personally identifiable information (PII) beyond what is strictly necessary to maintain a family profile or an Organization seat.
3. Community Moderation and Zero-Tolerance
While our article and video comment systems encourage constructive discussion, they are heavily moderated to protect our users:
- No Explicit Content: Any text, image, or link containing inappropriate, sexually explicit, or violent material will result in an immediate, permanent, system-wide ban.
- No Harassment or Bullying: We do not tolerate cyberbullying, hate speech, or predatory grooming behavior in any form.
- Active Review: We employ a combination of strict automated filtering and persistent human moderation to identify and scrub violating content rapidly.
4. Organization and Parental Oversight
FamWise empowers those directly responsible for guiding minors:
- Organization Seats: Schools and groups utilizing our Organization tier retain administrative oversight of the keys they provision, ensuring they can monitor system usage in compliance with their own institutional student safety policies.
- Individual Accounts: We encourage parents and guardians using the premium Individual tier to co-view content and actively monitor their family profile account activity.
5. Reporting Mechanisms
If you encounter content or user behavior that violates this policy or makes you feel unsafe, please report it immediately using the in-app flagging tools provided natively on all comments and articles, or by contacting our dedicated trust and safety team directly.
6. Law Enforcement Escalation
In cases indicating a severe physical threat, child exploitation, or illegal activity, FamWise will unequivocally bypass warnings to immediately isolate the offending account, preserve all backend evidence, and proactively report the matter to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant local law enforcement authorities.
